58 Gara Bay by Drawings by Norman Neasom (1915 - 2010)

Gara Bay

Pencil Drawing - Signed and dated

Image Area: 8ins x 12ins

This drawing of the young girl is dated July 1958 when an incident occurred during one of Norman’s holidays at “Gara Bay” a well-known beauty spot below Gara Rocks in South Devon

Staying in the same hotel as the Norman was a honeymoon couple. One morning whilst swimming in the bay, a freak wave swept the groom out to sea and he was lost.

Here we see the young bride returning to the scene in the vain hope he would be there.

Norman titled the work:

The Girl who lost her new Husband on their honeymoon - a swimming accident at Gara Bay".
