63 Auctioneer by Drawings by Norman Neasom (1915 - 2010)

The Auctioneer

Ink Drawing - Signed - N Neasom

Image Area: 100mm x 165mm

The 'Auctioneer' was drawn after a visit by Norman to the auction rooms in Birmingham, quite possible that of the auctioneers Biddle and Webb which were not far from where Norman was teaching in Margaret Street.

Norman's characters in the auction room were probably factual as he shows bidders with thei catalogues and the lady with a fox fur in this drawing. The rooms haven't changed much since, the porter still holds up or points to the lots and the bidders still consult their catalogues
