William Monk (1863 - 1937)

William Monk was one of England's most famous architectural etchers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and exhibited at most of the major galleries and Societies, including the RA and RE

William Monk created many original etchings, most being views of London, New York, Eton, Winchester and Durham. He was elected a full member of the Royal Engravers in 1899

Museums that purchased his etchings and paintings in the early twentieth century include the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the War Museum, London
